A discussion on architecture, built structures, and urban spaces in cities I have lived or visited. As an architect, I believe in what Leon Battista Alberti said as he was quoted in a book: "'Quasi come un animale' that is to say, its form acts from within outwards." With that in mind, I don't know what to make of architecture after Postmodernism.
I haven't gone inside there for awhile but when having a coffee at the Chocolates n' more across the street I look over. Unfortunately on the other side of the street are some ugly lawyers' offices. It used to be a small shopping place with a book store that I miss a lot. Started going to SJ about 10-12 years ago several times a year and change happens there too, not always for the better.
One of my favorite experiences in the Waterloo Region is going to the market and the town itself. There is a beautiful trail that goes all the way from Waterloo to SJ.
